MacCVS Pro

MacCVS Pro Development Information

MacCVS Pro is alive and well and a new version is currently under development. This page contains information on the new version 3.0, how to use our Internet repository, and who to contact about code contributions.

About MacCVS Pro 3.0

The most important change in MacCVS Pro 3.0 is that it has basic compatibility with the command-line client of Mac OS X and that it may not work correctly under Mac OS 9.

Version 3.0 can still generate the Projector 'ckid' resource because many people like how it integrates with CodeWarrior/BBEdit/etc. but the new version is not dependent on its existence.

Before You Use MacCVS Pro 3.0

The most important thing is that you may want to check out a new source tree when using MacCVS Pro 3.0, although existing CVS command-line checkouts should work.

Make sure your file mapping preferences are set up correctly. MacCVS Pro 3.0 depends on this information, especially for handling non-text files.

Getting the MacCVS Pro Source

Since MacCVS Pro is an open-source project, it is usually trivial to modify the application to suit your needs.

You can download the current non-release version from SourceForge. The source is also available there.

You can also fetch the latest sources from our repository.

  1. The tree is not guaranteed to build at any time nor should you assume that the building and running the source will not be hazardous to your health. However, we try our best to keep things in order and if you do have a problem, email me.

Getting Involved

We need your help in developing MacCVS Pro. We especially need assistance in areas such as testing and verification. If you are interested in helping out or have source code you want to contribute, please contact us and check out the wish list.
